📋 Session Abstract

Against the backdrop of energy and power transition, various energy storage technologies have undergone rapid iterative development, with their application scenarios and business models continuously expanding, making them crucial flexibility resources for the new power system. The IEEE PES China Satellite Technical Committee-Energy Storage and Stationary Battery, starting from the applications of energy storage in energy and power systems, has pooled the expertise and resources of relevant research institutions, universities, power companies, manufacturing enterprises, and testing and certification organizations across the industry chain. It provides a platform for technical exchange, data sharing, standardization, and promotion to advance the development of energy storage technology and industry, offering robust support for the clean energy transition and the safe, stable operation of power systems both in China and globally.

To foster innovation and application of advanced energy storage technologies, the IEEE PES China Satellite Technical Committee-Energy Storage and Stationary Battery plans to convene the "IEEE Energy Storage Technology Meeting 2026" in Beijing in November 2026, bringing together experts and scholars in energy storage technology and related fields to discuss the latest research achievements and explore the future of energy storage.

The meeting will focus on the following key topics:

  • 1) Stationary Battery & Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies;
  • 2) Energy Storage System and Equipment Technologies;
  • 3) Energy Storage Grid Connection and Operation Control Technologies;
  • 4) Energy Storage Market and Planning Technologies;
  • 5) DC Station Power Supply and Distribution Technologies;
  • 6) Hydrogen Energy Storage Technologies;
  • 7) Spent Battery Recycling Technologies;
  • 8) Energy Storage System Reliability and Safety Technologies;
  • 9) Large-Scale Physical Energy Storage Technologies.
